About our Church

This imposing red brick building opened for worship in 1930 and is

the latest in a succession of buildings, over the years, which were

  the home of this Society.

The building is located at the rear of Caerphilly Castle

and is close to the shopping facilities, both within

Caerphilly and in Cardiff, as well as having the glorious

  open countryside all around.

The Organ at Wesley has 2 manuals and pedals and is an instrument of 25

speaking stops. The majority is from an instrument originally built for Christ Church,

Cotham, Bristol by Vowles, before being rebuilt by Percy Daniel & Co. in 1970.

It was transferred to Caerphilly in 1992 and rebuilt in Wesley by Leonard and

Malcolm Starr, aided by the men of the church. The pedal department with one

rank of pipes is housed in the casework of our previous organ which came from

the Ross on Wye Methodist Church.

Worship is conducted in the church on the upper level

with its pine seating and oak pulpit and vestries.

Weekday activities and Sunday School meet on the lower level which

has a main hall and various classrooms, toilets and kitchen.

The members are always busy hosting special events

and the church is looked upon locally as a cultural centre

for the area. The activities range from musical programmes,

  flower displays, social evening etc.

We are also host to groups who regularly use our premises

such as National Blood Donor sessions, Stroke Club

as well as our weekly programmed activities.

We see Fairtrade as an important part of our world mission and use

their products for our church uses, have stalls with a selection of goods

for sale at special services and support our Caerphilly County Borough

Council in the promotion of Fairtrade in the community.

The Cardiff Circuit, of which we are now part, comprises of 22 churches that share worship and social

activities in common. Please see the Circuit Plan for further information.
